I just received my new Iwasaki 250watt 6500k metal halides, and noticed a small round piece of metal the size of a ballpoint pen's ballberring that rolls around in the gas chamber. Will this little ball of metal pose a problem? Will it have an effect on the lamps life, color, or possibly make it explode? The other bulb is fine.

Every metal halide bulb will have this metallic ball/dust. It is what generate the light when "ignited". For mercury vapor bulb, they use mercury, but for Iwasaki, it is a mixture of proprietory inorganic compounds.

Sorry if I confused you. The mixture I mentioned above includes mercury, as liquid said.
