I had some for three years and they were all taken out by a newly introduced rock aka hitchhiker crab (they get them while they are shedding), so I would take a look at possible predators.

WHEN DID YOU GET MARRIED?????

Whoa.. Joe's Juice?

Got married December 27th, 2003 :) So just a few weeks ago. Yes, Joe's Juice. I used it three days before my shrimp died.

Note to self: Stay away from Joe and his juiciness

I was using Stop Aiptasia with no success for months.... Joe's Juice killed my aiptasia in minutes. Very effective.

I don't want my shrimpy to croak, though.... eek! 8O I successfully killed some larger aiptsia with the hot kalk method and I plan to add one or two Peppermint shrimp soon to keep them under control.

Dec 27th is a good day to get married. Mine was in 1997. I would suspect the juice thingy had somthing in it that also effected the shrimp.

thank goodness there isn't even one of those buggers in my tank. I QT rock and look it over a bunch of times to make sure there aren't any on it. Just lucky I guess.

I was aptasia-free for THREE YEARS... had two on a rock I bought way back at the beginning, put in a few peppermints and they were gone, never to be seen again. Three years pass... about 2 months ago I notice an aptasia on one of my rocks, and now my tank is overrun. I didn't add any corals or rocks recently; apparently I had a sneaky one hide somewhere, or maybe a free-floating one was introduced with a new fish.

Well JEEZ! Congratulations, Mike! Wow.. that is wonderful, just wonderful!

My own folks were married during their college Christmas break, on the 22nd. (Happy anniversary, Wazz!)

I find it to be a bit beyond coincidence that more than one person has experienced loss of certain types of life when using 'The Juice'. I know these fish are problematic, but I chose a filefish last week for the Daily FAQ pic that BobF says is a FANTASTIC eater of Aiptasia (though I don't recollect mention of its propensity to eat other similar creatures). Should have bookmarked that one, but I thought for sure I'd remember and I only went by genus and species.

Thanks :) As far as the shrimp situation, I think we need to find out if this is an occurrence in other users of this product before jumping to conclusiong....... although I agree that it sounds a tad "fishy".

there is another post on the BB now about someone using JOEs juice and losing cleaners.... i say this stuff is probally what killed the shrimp... maybe if you are gonna use this junk (which i dont recomend) you should QT the cleaners until you run carbon or do a massive WC
