Awesome custom sump buying experience......

I originally found this guy through ebay and bought a really nice starter sump for $30.00. It was what you would call a factory second due to a bad scratch. The sump itself was very high quality.

I recently made contact with him about making me a custom sump with refugium, bubble trap, heater placement, skimmer compartment and a ton of baffles. He sent me a few professionally drafted schematics with revisions along the way untill I was happy with the design and measurements. Total cost shipped is 155.00!

I will post his contact info along with the final scematic/draft. I will also upload the pics he will be sending me shortly along with pics of the sump when I recieve. The last sump I bought from him before was so well packed that you could have drop kicked it out of a second story window and I would be confident it would still be intact.

I just wanted to share this experience, all too often we hear of the bad experiences but not the good. I'm just amazed at the customer service I recieved from this guy and his professionalism. I would highly recommend giving him a shot if you need a custom sump.

He sent me a progress picture, how cool. Didn't even ask for one. This is looking through the bottom of the sump shell. Still needs to add baffles and bubble catch. Sump is 36x13x16 and will fit in a 55 gallon stand.

What do you guys think?

I got mine from the great folks at Aquaplex...they make TruVu aquariums. It's 12" high, with a 30" X 15" footprint. It'll make a nice shallow nano some day.

FWIW, I bartend, and I probably am awake more hours when it's dark than when it's light. If a 9-5 person set their clock ahead about 6-7 hours that would be my schedule.

yes thats one pretty sump! I paid $125 for just the pexiglass to make my measly 18"x20" sump.

He does contract work, I think he just sells his "factory seconds" on ebay. I will get back with his ebay ID.

If you email him and tell him exactly what you want with dimensions he will send you a schematic for approval and quote you a price. His prices are dirt cheap and his quality is awesome. He does sumps/aquariums/refugiums etc...

I'm pushing close to 600gph, thinking about upgrading soon...
