are they herbivores? detritivores?? or carnivores?
thinking of getting some but have 4 clams in my tank, so wonderning whether they would irritate the clams.... or attack my corals.

If they;re herbivorous, what sort of algae do they feed on?

cheers

All three, givin the oppurtunity. As far as algae, I've never seen them go after any coralline, or bubble. I've seen many setups with clams and hermits (the reef hermits, not the big mosters that will destroy anything and everything in their path) and not heard of any problems with it. Your corals should be fine, some polyps are prone to closing up when a hermit decides to go after something in their area.
