How much sump light?

Is a 27w LOA (6500K) compact fluorescent enough light for the sump? I am going to use my old 18G tank as the sump where I want to keep some plants and maybe grow some pods.

I also found the 65w (6500K) LOA but am wondering if I really need all that light/heat energy consumption under the tank.

Hi Wendy,
If you're going to keep macros in your refugium ( a normal sump doesn't need light) then the lights you mention should work just fine.
