Hello. I was wondering if some of you have measured the Alk level of the effluent leaving your calcium reactor. I was curious if it is different for different reactors. I happen to have a Aquamedic 1000 Calcium reactor. My effluent is around 26dkh..

Thanks!

IIRC the rule of thumb is to actually dial in the reactor using alk - I try to run mind at about double what I want the alk of the tank to be.

I agree that using effluent alk is the best way to set a reactor, but I set mine to 3x the desired tank alk.

I also run a slower effluent drip... helps keep my pH above 8.
