A couple of Maxijet 900s would have done the trick nicely. Don't worry, you can always use the Mag 7 on your next (& probably bigger) tank.

Actually I currently use a Maxijet 1200 and a Hagen 402.... which put out approx 295 and 270 gph. I think I could still use a bit more flow though, which is why I wanted to replace the Hagen 402. If I had the cash, I"d go get a Sea Swirl to hook this Mag 7 up to.

not knowing how your specific setup is, can you pvc tee-off the output and pipe it around the tank? you could even drill spray holes or use valve (ugly imo tho) to control the multiple outflows (at least 4 considering the mag 7's output). the piping should run around $5~$10 tops.

orrr...it's time for a sump.

...but the Mag 7 is just about perfect to use as a sump return on a tank that size. It works well on mine. Couple it with a SCWD and you have some nice alternating currents. Save it for an upgrade later on...
