Here are a few 6 month growth pics, just for fun. Sorry for the picture quality on the newer images, I shot them when the lights were going out and just a Radium was on. Anyway, the growth is not spectacular, but decent. There are 4 sarcophytons in this 120, 2 of them pretty big. They are said to repress acro growth, I tend to doubt that.

A. millepora - hot pink with yellow tips. The green Montipora digitata in the background is huge, almost a foot across. It's in an area of heavy flow and has taken on a quite massive form.

Thanks! We're getting there slowly. Another 6 months and I'll take a full tank shot.

Lovely growth and colors, Dan.

I obtained an A. Millepora frag several months ago. It went from hot pink to blue. Did this also happen to your Millepora?

>... It went from hot pink to blue. ...

It happens all the time. I have one that turn from blue to purple to pink, to green and back to blue... all within 6 or 7 months in the same tank

Yes, the colors have changed a bit, mostly for the better. In these pics, the change is all from having radiums on in the 2nd shots, 10k in the earlier ones...

>... I was hoping it would stay pink.

It is easier to change to a different color than keep the current one, at least for millipora.

Here is another one, more like 18 months. Monti hispida, seems to be a slow grower. Frag from Rich Durso:

looks like you got some awesome lights there, really vibrant colouration, and i have no doubt that theres no photoshopage involved. I'd say that the Zooanthol is taking full advantage of your spectrum, shifting its colour to match.

hows the girth coming allong, many reefers with huge calcium levels and poor lighting claim to have stringy growth, but they seem t be thickening well.

girth seems good on all. The green monti digitata that extends into a high flow area particularly is very massive- I think flow makes a big difference in that respect.

not heard that one, but the theory makes sence, more flow, higher volume, more polyops to filtrate. Nice observation Dan.
