:( I bought 2 tank raised false perculas 3 weeks ago. They are the only fish in a 2 month new 10 gallon tank with live rock. All my water parameters are testing good and my problem is the guys just wont eat.I tried frozen brine, marine pellets, flake food, frozen plankton,krill,etc..etc...etc.... I never saw them eat ANYTHING in over 3 weeks and they look skinnier,The LFS said they would eat "almost anything" well they were half right, they dont eat anything??
ANY input/expierence would be helpful.... :?

Do you have access to live brine shrimp? That is usually a good way to kick start the appetite of picky fish.

If they are tank raised, they MUST be eating something in captivity, or they wouldn't have gotten this far.

Yes, try some live brine shrimp.
Fish ususally go crazy over them.

Can you get this a the LFS?

LFS will usually have live brine shrimp, you may need to call around.

Have you noticed any white spots on them (possibly only in the morning) or stringy white feces? If so, they may have ICH. This happened to a couple of tank raised false percs I had. They eventually died, but the first thing I noticed is they wouldn't eat.

I got another pair and the same thing happened. I treated them with Cupramine (in a Q tank). They started eating like crazy the next day.

Garlic Extreme dude. EVERY fish loves that stuff. Period. Thats how I got my mandarins to like frozen foods, its how my chromis know what time feeding is (one drop in the water and theyre going crazy looking for the food to come pouring from the top front), and thats how my tank raised false perc loves it! It also help keep paracites off em'.
My second green chromis I bought had some lymphocysts on its tail, and after a quick couple shots of Melafix and some healthy additional Garlic Extreme dosage in the food and the water, theyve almost completely disappeared by now. By the way, this was in my main tank, with all my corals and other inverts!
Cant say enough about that Garlic Xtreme or Extreme or whatever stuff! Made by Kent Marine... Dont pay more than $15 for it, though! I got mine for $10 at a LFS, and that was CHEAP!
Hope that helps some!
