Hey everyone I decided to purchase a pair of ocellaris clowns. I know this is their first day in the tank but they don't seem to want any of the food I have presented to them. So far I have tried formula 1 flake, frozen brine, and frozen shrimp. They actively chase the food but turn their noses when they get close enough to gulp it.

It's not uncommon for new fish not to feed for a few days.

My clown seems to eat whatever goes in the tank. He gets mysis shrimp and flake food. In the past he has eaten whatever is on the menu.

I expect you'll see your fish eating in a few days time.

Ditto teapot.

What were they eating at the store?

My ocellaris now eat whatever I feed them (unless it's too large). They go nuts for Formula 1 or defrosted frozen enriched brine, but will consume flake, pellet, bloodworms, or even the unwary finger.

The store was feeding frozen brine. There were about 10 fish in the tank when I asked to see them feed. It looked like a little feeding frenzy. But who knows if all of them were eatin. It's hard to point into the tank and say, "I want the one in the middle. You know the one with the white stripe."

give them a few days, pick up some frozen mysis, they shouldnt be able to resist it, although it isnt uncommon for it to take a few days.

Well day two has come and gone and they still pass up on all the food. I guess I just need to chill out. Both of them are quite active and very healthy looking. Im just a control freak.

Try soaking the food in some garlic x-treme for about thirty minutes before you feed them. Maybe that will entice them.
