So if Flat worms are Photosynthitic, have any of you ever done a light experiment with them. I was thinking about turning off all the lights in my tank and placing one solid beam on a rock in the corner. Then I could just take out that rock and treat it in a bucket. I would still treat the tank as well but this would cut down on the toxins in my tank.
Have any of you tried this?
My Flat Worm exit will be here next week so Give me some more Ideas.
Ayone know where these things come from?

Yes, flatworm is phototaxis (or whatever term geeks used to describe the tendency to go toward light). I would just remove the rock and shake it around. Flatworms will just fall off the rock.

These flatworms should be expected to react to a photon gradient, moving towards greater intensity. But an isolated spotlight highlighting a single rock probably will not cause many of them to migrate towards it.

It might work best to locate existing concentrations of them and focus the light on a point of a rock near them. There you can vacuum them with a siphon hose.

Just for are catch up, I turned off all the lights in my tank for 2 days and kept are Outdoor spotling on one side of the tank. Eventually they all moved to that side and I was able to suck them out. 3 buckets worth.
Now tonight I can take one more bucket out and then treat the tank.
