i was at Petco the other day when i saw what was called a curly cue anemone..i wish i had pics...it was wierd...looked stringy, not much on anemone...sorry i couldnt find a sci name for it thats why i asking, its not a condy or any sort of LTA or BTA... this is for mere curiosity?

They're Bartholomea sp., Caribbean non-hosting anemones. These guys can eat and often times do eat fish. Don't try to get one to host your clowns or you may end up with a very well-fed Curly Cue :)

I have one for over a year and its doing very well...its hardy and has never eaten a fish. Cool addition to a tank.

that is it brut..that is what i saw..i dont want something like that, i just was wondering if Petco was trying to pawn off some macro algae as an anemone..thanx guys

so what purpose do they serve in a reef tank? they wont host clowns. i didnt really think it was pretty either.

they eat food that you feed them(frozen shrimp), they also eat your prized shrimp if they walk too close... they are neat looking and are hardy, but needless to say I no longer have anenomes!
