Hey yall,
So I just had an impulse buy and bought a little CPR sump/biofilter for my drilled 46 bow. However, I am still on my fix and would like to get an auto top off system, Do you have any sugestions? I has to be small because the chamber in which the water level changes is very small. I would also like something that has a back up sensor so that I don't flud my house.
For the record, I will be hooking it right up to my ro/di unit so the the watter will slowly drip into the system throughout the day. I also don't want to use one of those float vlaves that are hooked up to an electrical wire because Idealy I would only like to drill on small hole in the wall for the water tube rather the mulitiple holes for a set up such as the one I just mentioned.
Give me some Ideas yall. You really helped me with my Ich situation so now I am coming back for more.
Thanks.
Jason.

Spectrapure liter meter. It has a float switch as back up and a max input program so you can calibrate the total amount dosed if the float switch went faulty. The float switch plugs into the unit and the unit pulls from a bucket of water. You can set the bucket up with a kent marine auto shut off kit/float switch so the bucket is always full and have a great auto top off unit. I have used this for years flawlessly. It is the best method IMO

I second the Litermeter recommedation. The new Litermeter III is outstanding. A good dosing pump is more reliable and gives greater peace of mind then gravity/pressure fed devices or float switches IME.

For less money, and just as reliable, use Spectrapure's LLC. Basically a pressure-based topoff that works with RO/DI.

Thanks
I have read about this system and I now all I have to do is find out where to get it. I think that I only need to pressure fed unit, but I am going to look at them all.
Thanks again
Jason

I think you can order it directly from SpectraPure. Also, I know MarineDepot and other reef hardware places sell it.

I use a float valve. It have been working fine for a couple of years now. To avoid a flood my top off container is smaller than my sump so if the valve fails it will not flood. I need to fill it back up about every 8th day.
