FWIW, Tropical paradise in San Leandro sells sugar fine aragonite from www.purearagonite.com for about $25 for a 40 lb. bag. It's essentially Southdown in a much more expensive bag.
Well, don't buy there then I suppose. I've gotten great deals on small frags and equipment from them. Montipora frags for 5$ ?? Hardly overpriced. Eddie and co. are also all very, very knowledgeable, which I can't say is true for a lot of BA stores. If you do a search here and RC you'll find it's got a great reputation as a retail store.
FWIW, SD is nearly impossible to find in Northern California. purearagonite sells it for around the same price after shipping.
u must be magically delicious to eddie because he charges exhorbitant rates for everyone else. i cannot argue that his stuff looks good, but i can't pay 60 bucks for xenia that one of his henchman had the nerve to try to con me into buying by saying xenia is soooo hard to take care of and so rare i shouldn't pass it up. i mean please, i have to throw it away it grows so fast.
