hello all,
i have a 45 gallon reef tank with an 18gallon tall sump.i have 100lbs of live rock and 50lbs of live sand for a depth of 1.5-2.0inch sand bed.i have 1-maroon clown,1-gold head sleeper goby,3-chromis and 1-royal gramma.my tank is heavily populated with various softies.i am in need of a good in sump style skimmer as my prizm deluxe is crap.i am torn between the aquac urchin w/maxijet 1200 or the euroreef es 5-2.please help me decide which skimmer would be best for my setup.based on both reviews of these skimmers i can't decide which to get.thanks for all your help. :D

Between the Urchin and ES5-2, go with the Euroreef. The Urchin isn't an equivalent. Now if you were considering a full size AquaC like the EV series, that's a different story ;)

my sump measures 10wide x 20long x 19high.i am using a berlin sock with hanging bracket and i have my return pump.space is limited so how much space does the euroreef take as compared to the aquac urchin?

It's a 9x9" foot print, so it'll fit, but barely. The Urchin Pro is much smaller and will fit with no problem, so if space is a concern, perhaps the Urchin is the way to go. Get the Pro model.
