I figured I'd help get the ball rolling with some info for anyone who is interested.
One of the best, if the THE best stomatopods for keeping as a pet is Gonodactylus platysoma. Often overlooked, this species has it all really. Why? Well while they are not so brillaint as O.scyllarus, they are still a very attractive animal. They are also very outgoing, and not prone to hiding in their cave for hours or days on end as are many species. They are inquisitive, and like to come out and observe their surroundings. Mine would sit on a rock, and just watch his me work for suprisingly long periods of time. In fact, he was almost always visible. They are also much less likely to attach fish than some other species, but they still are best kept by themselves. They will accept live, as well as dead food items - however as always you must allow the stomatopod to use his apparatus at a regular interval. A few live snails here and there take care of this.
