I have 2 perc clowns in this established reef for 3 years. Just ended a terrible experiment with a flame angel. Was fine for a while and then he picked on all the sps polyps. He's been caught and returned to the LFS.

I'd like to add 2 new fish with differing colors.

I originally had a royal gramma and purple firefish, but moved them to a friend's tank.

Any other suggestions??

Thanks!

Cardinalfish are a good choice. Just make sure to get at least three because they like to school.

How about a fairy wrasse? Lubbocks Fairy (Tri-color) or a clown (Solarensis -sp?) Fairy?
Bluesided Fairy Wrasse
A Watchman goby with shrimp is really fun to have as well.
Yellow clown goby.
A royal gramma or a firefish goby would be good choices as well.
If you are wanting relatively peaceful fish try to avoid psuedochromis/dottybacks and blennies as they can turn into real turdpiles once they get bigger and establish territory. You don't want those kinds of issues in small tanks ;)

Longnose hawkfish. No shrimps though.

Sixline wrasse.

Pseudochromis.

Canary Wrasse or Banana Wrasse (as I've heard them called).
Sixline, fourline, eightline wrasses.
I love the Stonogobiops nematodes. Up here we call it a Sailfin Shrimp Goby. It gets about 1.5", is peaceful, and is whitish with red bars and a yellow face. Lives in burrows with pistol shrimp if you ever want to have a pistol shrimp/shrimp goby combo. They are really fun to watch.

My LFS has Royal Grammas on sale for 6.95. Could I put 3 of them in the 37 with the 2 percs or would the 3 together not be recommended??

Thanks!

No 3 Gramma loretos wouldn't work in that size tank. If you can purchase a large and small specimen then 2 would be fine. They also tend to be secretive so nooks and craninies in the rock work should be available for them.

If you do put 3 into the tank, make sure you do it all at once, and observe their behavior for a couple weeks after. While I have seen them live in groups in the wild, they seem to be territorial in small tanks (at least in my tank). They may tend to fight with each other. This may take a while to establish territory though, my gramma was fine and very peaceful for about 3 months, then I added a yellow watchman and he didnt like that. My tank was a 40T, so similar to your size.

A 37 gallon is probably a bit cramped for a fairy wrasse. They need lots of room to swim.

A P. fridmani pair could work, or a midas blenny. Chalk bass, cardinals, assessors...

Royal grammas do fine in groups when indroduced at the same time, however not in a tank that small. A pair is the most I'd consider, but having just two is a risk in and of itself.

Consider the orchid dottyback, P. fridimani
sixline wrasse
pygmy angel C. argi (great reef fish, not so unpredictable as a flame)
Bangai cardinal - just one.
