What is this and how can I bring it back to life?

Can't really tell, but remind me of a candy cane/frog spawn/hammer coral...

Once all the soft tissue is "lift off," it is pretty much dead, but if you are one of the luck few, there can be enough tissue left for it to grow back as little polyp.

The need relatively low nitrate (1-2ppm) to do well, moderate light (VHO), low-mid flow. Not as demanding as SPS, but in par with most of the LPS. Pretty hardy.

I got it as a "sample" when I ordered some other livestock online. Good thing I didnt pay for it (I woulda been pissed!) but anyway now it is in a tank under (2) 250watt 10k MH and (1)175watt 50K MH - so maybe it will come back. I still cant figure out exactly what species or name or something!!!

It looks like some sort of SPS. I say that because there are some polyps extending from the tips. Frogs and hammers do not have flesh that far down the stalks.

I was thinking some sort of hydnophora but very hard to tell. Is a better clearer picture possible?
