Hi guys I have a millenium 400 "wet dry" filter, everyone keeps telling me to get rid of its not worth it, I am thinking of getting a remora pro and just getting rid of the millenium, any suggestions?
I have a 55 gallon tank with about 30-40 pounds of live rock, 10 hermit crabs, 2 damsels and 2 turbo snails??

A hang-on skimmer is much better suited for reefs then a wet/dry. I heartily endorse getting a skimmer.

If the millenium is a Below the tank wet dry, you could use it as a sump. Just get rid of the bioballs and put the skimmer in there.

That's a HO power filter. You could keep it for added circulation and remove the wet/dry components. A remora would work great.

ho power filter whats that mean?

ho power
adj. 1. Of or relating to prostitution: a prostitutional right.

just kidding :D

I think he just meant that's it a hang-on. Sometimes they'll say HOT (hang on tank) or HOB (hand on back).

Likely you added too much calcium and it precipitated out of solution. Be careful when you dose additives; it's always best to test instead of dosing blindly, and always start with low dosages and work up.
