I just got one. Either I am missing something or there is not allot of current. I have the 820 model and the current barely reached the other side of my 3 ft tank.
Is there a setting I am missing?

I can't remember which model number I have, but it causes a sand storm on the other side of my 4" tank. (48x32x24) I had to put a layer of heavier grade sand on the other end to keep in it place. That is with the little flat diffuser installed. Without it, it would be impossible to use in that tank.
I've had my fill of Rio pumps. It's kind of fishy how neither Rio or TAAM Inc. have a website. Anyway, the HyperFlow is said to have a new NEOPOWER MAGNETIC VORTEX ROTOR BLADE TECHNOLOGY. I guess that's short for "drive shaft with ceramic bearings".
If you ask me a reputation as bad as RIO has cannot be fixed overnight as some people want to belive. Time will tell, but you won't see one in any of my tanks for a few years.
I removed the directional output of the pump and placed the pump horizontaly and now I can see some flow.
Not exactly enough of what I wanted to achieve but its ok. I was hoping to get enough current low in the tank to get the detritus to be blown back up so the overflows can can dump it to the sump to the skimmer.
Next on the drawing board........

Ive been running the 620 in a 3 foot tank for a while. Its a good pump so far. I have it blowng directly on some Montipora colonies on the opposite side of the tank. Polyp extension and growth HAVE increased.
