Is the output above the water line? Have you checked the water level inside the skimmer? I have the same exact setup. All valves wide open and it works fine.

It looks similar in design to my ETSS, (with the exception of the downdraft tube), close the gate until foam starts to rise up the tower, there is only about 3/4 inch gap under the gate on my skimmer and it works really well.

of course i may be wrong

Anton :)

They recommend that you keep the water level about 1/2" under the venturi input. If you use a flashlight, look inside the skimmer under where the water enters. You'll see a air chamber with a divider below it. The water level should be 1/2" to 1/4" or so below that. If the water is level with that divider, or to far below, the foaming action will be far less then needed.

Mine took a couple of months to start working. The tank was new, so I might just haven't had enough organics, but I actually went so far as to build a big snailman counter-current skimmer. Right about when it was all done the aqua-c kicked in, and I never set up the cc jobbie.

One place to check- the internal nozzle the water flows in (looks like a 3-lobed 8) can get clogged with carbon or gravel particles.

The beauty of Jason's design, the easily cleaned venturi.
