It appears to be ich. Although it could be Brooklynella in it's early stages. If it gets like tufts of cotton I'd say Brook. Feed food soaked in garlic. Remove to Quarentine tank, if you have one). You can also soak food in selcon. The cleaner shrimp L.ambionesis will usually clean them up pretty good too.

I gave my QT to my damsels :( I was going to buy a better tank as a QT... I have 2 clowns a yellow goby and I was going to put the cleaner shrimp back in there?

What do you suggest I do to cure this in the main tank :?

You said that cleaner shrimp might help alot? So I should put him in the main tank then...?

IS this a reef tank or FO. If its FO simple copper will work but it will also destroy the tank for future reef tanks.

Garlic works well and when the ich falls off to the sand to re-hatch they wont re host on the clown if he has the garlic in his system.

There are also some reef safe fixs that work 50/50, kick-ich from ruby reef is my favorite of these.

This sucks...

Alright let me get this straight... I can bassicly add little pieces of garlic with the food? If the fish eat it Ick will not be able to host in the fish right? Will Ick always be in the tank or will it die off?

If I can put him in a QT I can add copper and how long does it take for ICK to die off and I can put him back in the main tank?

Should I put the cleaner shirp back in? Will he help al all?

kick-ick... I can get that at the LFS? And it's sort of reef-safe?

My tank is FO... If I use kick-ick will I be able to have a reef tank?

Garlic is an additive you can get from the LFS or online store. Soak the food in it.

When using copper be precise and follow the directions closely. Follow through the full cycle, if the ick is gone it's gone. If the ick is not gone you will need to do a second cycle.

You can put the shrimp in the main tank but not in a tank with copper.

Kick-ich has no effect on the long term heath of the tank and usually kills off the ich. I hae used it ina full reef before, although I perfer soaking the food with the garlic extract.

Sorry to hear that. The ich will still be present in the water. You may want to feed with the garlic anyway so that the other fish do not get it as well.
