HQI MHs vs regular MHs

Do HQI(DE) MH's vs the regular MHs make that much of a difference ? I'm
Debating on HQIs which I had in the past but wondering if I even need to and can save myself some $$$. Opinions welcomed

IMO the only time HQI's are useful is when you want BRIGHT light on a small space. If you have the space, mini luminarcs or full size ones will provide the same intensity and better coverage, not to mention that the SE bulbs are not as fragile.
Keep in mind HQI ballasts will run SE bulbs brighter + whiter

If you are going to run DE bulbs with the HQI, you have only a few choices since most of the common bulbs are SE. You can run SE bulbs but not every SE bulb works well with HQI ballast, not to mention the lifespan is shorten.
