Do you mean on rock on the bottom of your tank or actually on the glass bottom of the tank? Is this a new tank? New rock? Are there corals in the tank? Fish?
I've never seen coraline algae "peel" off - usually if it's unhappy it will bleach to white or stop growing. If you are concerned about your coraline algae, check your alk and calcium levels to make sure they are good. Then check nitrates, salinity, and temperature. (Ammonia and nitrite if the tank is new.) I've read, but not seen, that using freshly mixed water for a water change without letting it sit overnight will cause coraline algae to come off of the rocks....
Are you sure it's coraline aglae? Is it hard to the touch or rather slimey?

There are different types of coralline, and it can have different growth patterns. I have has it grow into ruffled shelves, growing out from it's substrate.

Maybe that's what is going on.

I have also had it peel off in large sheets from my back glass when my Ca had been chronically low.
