Either that or a grey urethane foam would be my guess. The latter would be my guess based on this pic:

If you've ever watched Monster House on Discovery , they like to use spray on urethane foam + hardcoat for a lot of neat stuff.

BTW: I *seriously* doubt that it's an epoxy like one guy mentions in that thread. The catalyst for many epoxy systems is an amine...

You're right, it does look like a foam.

I'm assuming it's non-toxic and will hold-up over time in saltwater?

Any idea where such a thing could be found/purchased Shane? I know about the window/door type stuff but that breaks down under UV exposure over time... ...I'm guessing this is something else...

BTW, what's "hardcoat"?

Probably your best bet at finding it would be at a Home Depot or something like that. I've never seen it there, but I've never looked either. :P Hardcoat is just a hard shell that's sprayed on the urethane foam. Dunno what it exactly is but they use it a lot on Monster House. heh. FWIW you'd need specialty equipment to spray it on like they're doing.

Ya i think its polyurehtane or some plastilaminate stuff. Ive seen it before, not with aquariums but i cant remember the name. :?
