Could someone who knows MH lights please help me?

I need to purchase a new bulb for my lighting fixture. I have no Ideal what I have. Ok well I have an ideal but that’s it.

Here are the clues.

The bulb looks like this.






The bulb reads
Hamilton TECH
True 10000K
MH 175W/U 06 2
MADE IN GERMANY

The ballast reads

PFO Lighting
AQ1 175 MH
60hz 120 v 1.8 amps

I’m dumb so I need to know where to buy a good 10k replacement. The pc’s are easy. But I am confused about the bulb I intended to but this bulb.

I was thrown buy the ballast recommendations. I need to order one pronto so please help. I need to know if that bulb will work with my system.

I'd go with a new 10K Ushio.

Marine Depot carries them.

What you described is exactly what you need to know to pick up a new one. Shop around on the vendors page here on RDO. You might also check Champion Lighting.

If you were happy with that bulb I would just pick up another Hamilton 10K. I run them on my tank and am quite happy with them.

I like the Venture 10K 175's, which I'm currently running. Nice blue-ish white color, and I get great growth on green SPS with them. I'll be trying a teal acro soon, so I'll let ya know how that goes...
