8O what the hell is going on with my tank???? I have NEVER had a problem like this in the 5 yrs i've been in this hobby....
the tank is doing beautiflly... then all of a sudden, one of my acro's started to RTN, it was gone in a day. then like a chain reaction...the rest of my sps slowly started to do the same. Bacterial infec maybe? my water chem is fine...all normal. phosphates went a lil up- 0.03, but not life threatening, temp.-80F.
but realizing the problem wasn't getting any better...even with my water changes...i took the remaining corals out of the tank, into my prop tank. where they are now recovering. My anthias are fine and healthy... but the other night i lost my baby...my achilles tang whom i've had for a while. (i think it had to do with his swim bladder)
So what do you think is going on?
i'm already about to tear down the tank...for the first time in 4 yrs....and flush out my system, and start over.
   :x

Has anyone used detergents or glass cleaners near the tank? It could be some sort of poisoning. I just think that because a fish was affected as well. You'll have to keep testing to see what's up.

I agree. The fact that you lost a fish as well is definitely a red flag to me, indicating an introduced toxin of some sort. Sorry to hear this. Keep us posted.

I will advise complete (100%) water changes in succession, along with vigorous filtration with carbon AND PolyFilter. Since you're in San D., I think you should get yourself some Scripps water. If you're skimming, CRANK IT UP.

No offence but the pics you posted of you achilles looked like he was starving to death. I don't think poisening would be selective and pick one fish.

RTN is known to do this, spread from one SPS to anohter. I would look more for a temp spike, or ph/alk issue. What test kits are you using?
