I have a scarlet and a blood red fireshrimp in my tank and they get along great! Both will come out and try to clean my hands which is really cool. I am thinking of adding more to my tank. :?
I read an article about scarlets and it suggested keeping several in a 75 gallon tank. Has anyone got several in a tank and will they gang up on the fire shrimp or co exist fine? Seems that the cleaners will provide a good source of food with offspring for corals and fish? THanks for the feedback :D

Yes you can have multiple Lysmata debenius ( Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp ) and Lysmata debelius ( Blood Red Fire Shrimp ) in your aquarium with no problems. Remember that these guys need to eat too, so target feeding them is the way to make sure they don't munch on things they're not supposed to.

In my 75 I have:
2 scarlet cleaners
2 pepermint
1 coral banded

...and they all get along fine (I like inverts)

Thanks! That is good news. What do you mean by target feeding so they don't munch on things they shouldn't?
Thanks again

My scarlet cleaner comes out at dinner time and he makes sure to get his fair share.

If this does not happen, David is referring to taking some food and putting it near the shrimp(s) to eat. You can use your hand or a pair of plastic tweezers to accomplish this. With a full belly, they are not as likely to be eating things they should not be eating.

I had 2 cleaners, one fire, and 10 peppermints at one time in my 75. Everyone got along quite well, and it was quite a sight to see when the food hit the water...shrimp everywhere!

Peace,

Chip
