I have two 3/4'' models that are defective and need to be repaired. I want to find out from those of you who had sent one out for repair, where to send it to, how reliable was the repair and how much did it cost? Also, has anyone tried to open one up and do the repair themself?

Contact Ed at http://www.sea-swirl.com

He is very helpful and will help you figure out what is wrong. There is also a phone number on the website.
If the motor is burned out a new one is 45 bucks and its supposed to be pretty easy to put it in.
I sent mine back last year and was very happy with the price and the turn around - though I don't remember what either was!
