i have a maroon clown that i have about a year two days ago i added a rose anemone and another maroon hoping to have a mated pair. thier both about 1 1/2" long they just fight. i have a reef tank so rearranging like the lfs said is not going to happen. If i remove the new one and maybe add a smaller less mature maroon is it possible they may become a mated pair or has the old maroon claimed the tank his and will i have to just remove him and start with two new clowns. and can you make a mated pair out of a gold stripe maroon and a normal maroon? Just curious.

To pair maroons you really need a huge disparity in size, like one needs to be twice the size of the other. If they're the same size one will probably end up dead.

...and yes, you can pair GS and WS maroons. I have a WS female and GS male that spawn regularly. I thought the male was WS when I bought him. They develop the gold at about a year.
