Hi all. This coral was given to me some time ago as a brain coral. I think it is a Favia sp. but I wanted to be certain.
The first picture was taken recently with the polyps out. The second is when I just got it.

Oh, so you think it is Favites sp. not Favia sp.?
I had considered Favites, but I couldn't decide if the corallites were joined or not.

Fastmarc, first, are you pulling another fast one? :)

Did you collect this one locally or purchase it imported from Indo-Pacific?

LOL... no, I promise. The last time was a genuine oversight.
This was brought in from Florida, so I'm not sure if it is from Indo-Pacific region. Unfortunately, the person who brought it in and most who I know in the hobby here, do not think the scientific names are important and I prefer to know what I have.
Your expertise in IDing would be greatly appreciated.
