has anyone had any dealings with the prizm line of skimmers? Just currious. They seem to be a good deal if they work decently.

I smashed mine to little bitty pieces. It would need to be adjusted every day. It was noisy as well. Not allot of skimmate. I upgraded it to a CPR Bakpak which works 100 imes better IMHO.

I had the standard model. It worked ok with a minimal load (2 damsels, a clownfish and a couple shrimp) in a 29 gal FOWLR setup. My water parameters never really got out of hand but my nitrates were always on the high side. I did notice an increase in skimmate after upgrading. The other problem I had with it was that it was very noisy.

Couldn't skim a shotglass like just about every other red sea product it's a total piece of crap.

I'll never forget the President of Red Sea telling me to my face that the original Prizm could handle a 125 gallon tank. We tried one on a 10 gallon and removed and replaced it with an AquaC Remora.
