Trying to iron out the current/circulation issue....

Right now I'm running:

2 Maxi jet 1200s (at each end of the tank)
1 Iwaki 30 RLT - 510 gph (return pump - 1 back wall return)
1 Iwaki 30 RLXT - 960 gph (closed loop - 2 back wall returns)

Here's a picture:

I have started to notice some dead spots in the tank, and I like the idea of having some kind of varied flow. So a wavemaker of some kind or use of a new powerhead like the tunze stream on a controller come to mind. Which would be better for a tank with my dimensions?

60x18x20 (100 gal - long)

Would I need 1 or 2 tunzestreams, or are they too strong in general for my tank. I have sugarfine aragonite, and I don't want the stuff blowing around like crazy. I'd eventually like a cleanly settled sandbed.

If the stream(s) are overkill, what kind of wavemaker do you recommend?

Many thanks.

You might try the new SEIOs. A lot cheaper than the Tunze and 1 on each end would be perfect for your tank IMO. They are on sale at Marine Depot I think.

Which streams do you have on the tank that is 30" long?

I may get one of the 1800gph model for my tank to put on the left side wall. I plan on having a mixed reef, so I want to make sure thats not gonna be too much current for the corals that prefer less current.
