I need to replace my 110watt vho flourescent lamps and am not quite sure what selection of lamps to buy. It is a four lamp system and I don't know if I should use 2 actinics and 2 daylight bulbs or 1 striaght actinic with a 50/50 and two daylights or exactly what configuration will best benefit my reef tank. What manufacturer seems to have the most accurate specs. What combination of lights should I use to achieve the most beneficial spectrum? If anyone can help point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks........

I used both 2xactinic and 2xactinic white(12K)(URI Bulbs). I also used 2xaquasun(10K) and 2x actinic(URI Bulbs). I preferred the 2x actinic and the 2x 12K actinic whites.

URI is what i use, 2 10K and 2 superactinics. I have tried other combinations but this works best as far as lighting requirements for my corals and over all color and apearence of my tank. But the combinations are endless and if you are using an ELECTRONIC ballast you can actually use normal output t-12 bulbs and they will perform very close to VHO levels. This opens up an even wider combination of lightign choices. Lighting is 50% science and (75)% personal preference. The true test of what lighting is wrong or right is whether your corals thrive AND you like the look of your tank. Meet those two requeirements and you will have the right ligting. Good luck

I use 2 50/50 and 2 super actinic URI bulbs. I like the color and my corals do well.
