I almost finnished dry fitting my plumbing thas weekend. I ran out of 3/4" last night and have only 3 connections left to make. It took me alot longer than expected to put the CL in. I had to rearrance the sump locations and return pump so it would all fit. Just to let you know working with 2" PVC is a real pain. The fittings are huge. The stand is stuffed. After I make the last 3 connections I need to pull it all apart and glue it.

OH yea I also changed the manifold for the CL. The more I looked at it the more it looked like it would be a major pain when it came time to aquscape. I pulled off the tees that where on the bottom. It now consist of four 1" outlets, three 1/2" holes facing forward and eight 1/4" holes at the bottom. I think this will be better.

I stayed up till 2am Sunday morning finishing the plumbing. I had lots of help from my 5yo daughter. She really love the tank. She got me up at 8 to finish. She helped me move the live rock to the new tank. Here are a few shots.

I lost a lot more corals then I had thought. The hair algae and my neglect of the temp tank really look a toll. Luckly I have $70 credit at my LFS and a buddy owns me some frags for some gear I gave him. Not to mention my b-day is next month. I should be stocked and running by the end of March.

Hi Wazzel!,

Great looking tank. I noticed you have a fan on top of the pendant.. is that blowing in or out? Is it noisy?

If so. when i had my cube set up. I cut out a piece of neoprene and used it as a buffer between the wood and the fan. It was the best thing i ever did. Just an idear for ya!

The one on top blows out and it is mostly silent. The big sequence and overflow is louder that the two fans together. I will have to remember that tip is they ever get loud.

Thanks. It's running hotter than I would like. I just pulled the plug on the sequence since the temp got to 84. I have no idea how high it would get. I'll just have to run it later.

dang. can you say. chiller?

FYI. and Im sure you know this already but...

you can make a chiller for pretty darn cheap very easily.

Get a standalone small freezer from walmart for about 100 bucks. (freezer, not fridge.) drill two holes in the door for send and return. Place a bucket or container in the freezer and fill it full of water. Run the tube from the tank, through the door, and wrap as much fexible tubing within the container as you possibly can to give the water as much dwell time as possible through the bucket of, what will eventually be, solid ice. Put a good sized pump on it to push the water through without letting it freeze in the lines, run the outlet back to the tank, and place the freezer powercord on a timer. Youll have to figure out the sequence of on and off to get the water temp right, but its possible. Another good way of regulating it, but a little bit more expensive, is to buy a thermostat. I think foster and smith have one, but its pricey. You can buy them a little cheaper from market wholesellers.
The thermostats usually have two outlets on them, one runs the chiller (freezer) and one runs the heater. It has a probe that detects the water temperature and adjusts both units accordingly.

I have thought of that, but considering I do not have place to hide a freezer in the room the tank is in I guess I'm going to have to save for a chiller.

Glad to see your tank is up and running. It looks great! Man that looks tight, literally.

It's not that bad. all the piping is on one side and I have a nice hole to reace the skimmer. I have a power strip on each side mounted to the wall. I just need to orginize the rat nest of wires.

It depends on the heat load. Most freezers do not have much Hp and would not do well if the heat load is to great. It would probably work on my 60 if I had a closet or somthing to put it in.
