Mine is getting big (as they tend to do)...
I know that they are agressive, and tend to be a threat to leathers (hands, toadstools, ect.), but how about other corals.

Do I just have to make sure they do not touch?
Also, are they stingers or chemical warriors?

Thanks!

i believe softies are more chemical warriors than stingers... got a book at home but there's a break down of softies, believe sarcophyton was near the top in terms of most toxic among softies.. but i know that the cladiella when placed next to a sarcophtyon or sinularia.. it wil kill either or... i'll try and follow up tonight

This is a bump and additional question.

Will trimming the colt in the tank cause stress to the other corals (ie. Will the colt unleash it's chemical wrath if I start hacking it up)?

I chop up soft corals in the tank.

Now I don't have anything super sensitive with them like sps corals, but nobody in the tank has ever given me any indication that the cut soft corals were hurting them. I often add fresh carbon at this time, just in case.

I do try and make it very quick cuts, don't sit there all day hacking away at it. For a colt I would go in with sharp scissors, and one snip for each branch you want to remove.

I've got everything inc. SPS LPS BTA Zoos, shrooms, softies.... you name it, all in a 33g. My colt is the size of a man's open hand, and I cut it all the time.

I do run carbon
