i recently purchased a acropora frag from my lfs for 20 bucks. When i bought it, it was browning and i figured that was why it was so cheap. Its been in my tank now for about 2 months and the color is starting to come back, but at the same time, there appears to be a "hair like substance" growing on it. Im wondering if anyone knows what this is. It doesnt appear to be hair algae. Any help would be greatly appreciated

no, i wish i could post a picture, but my digital camera recently took a crap on me. And its not anywhere else in the system at all. Just on the acro.

I may be confused but if its a acro like A. millipora the polyps can look very hairy. Algae that I know of cant grow on the corals live tissue unless overgrowing rocks also.

hmm it could be, that would sure make me feel alot better. The "hair like substance" is longer than the branches. Is that normal???
