I want to seal the inside of my stand so that if there is a water spill it will retain the water, and not spill out onto the floor. Also so that the wood will not soak it up. Can I use shellac or is there something better. Maybe a spray on Rubberize?

Thanks,
Shane

A couple things come to mind:

* A couple coats of marine grade epoxy paint

* A couple coats of a RTV Silicone paint

I saw one guys tank that had what I think was Pool Lining material on the bottom, he kind of made a 'containter' with it going up the siteds of the frame. Not quite sure how well that would work in a stand, but might give you some ideas.

I used West System epoxy and just poured it on the bottom and used a foam brush to do the sides. They sell a white pigment that you add to make it look kind of Hospital clean. You can get it at West Marine in the Bay area or online.
