Somehow from the dark recesses of my tank I overlooked a mushroom when moving corals and rock to my 215 a year and some ago. The one patch is going ballistic and though pretty they crowded out a 4"x5" patch of zoanthids and are now smothering a powder blue caulastrea and a few plating montiporas. Not really keen on killing them but if I have to I was going to kalk them - have tried directing a powerhead at them for a few minutes but they just shrivel up against the rock.
Any good preferably nonlethal methods people have for removing these?
