FWIW, I dislike any "all-in-one" or "reef-ready" setup because either the components are cheap/junks, or the price is too high for what I get myself.

For reefs, no need for the wet/dry. I would build your own, doing your own plumbing, etc. You could probably piecemeal it together cheaper than the price they have it listed for.

I wouldn't do it. You don't need the wet/dry, and the skimmer looks like a piece of crap.

Don't go that route. Spend your money on a good protein skimmer. I threw out my wet/dry filter a long time ago and have never looked back - they are only good for fish only tanks...
