my gorgonian over the last couple of days hasnt been extending its pulopes "not sure of spelling, lol mental blank" but it didnt show any sign of infection etc so i couldnt quite work it out , any way i came home today and it has its "pulopes" back out yet there are all these white almost transperant strings coming out of it at seperate locations. im not sure if its spawning, dying, expelling its photosynthetic parts or whateva. any suggests would definantly be appreciated and give me piece of mind.

cheers

Without seeing some pics it's hard to be sure. But it sounds like the gorg is just shedding it's outer layer. This is very common for gorgonians and leather corals. The shed the outer waxy layer of tissue to ride themselves of algae that have begun to grow on them. If it starts to happen with increased frequency, more than once a month. I would move into an area with stronger flow.
