I am looking to paint the back of my tank. However I have a hang on the side overflow. My question is this: What kind of paint can I use to paint it?

I have painted the back of my tank with spraypaint. You have to tape off the sides so as not to get overspray. I also have tanks that the back was painted with acrylic paint, but you can see the brushmarks.

I would not use any paint "in" the tank, I trust that was a typo in your post title.

No it wasnt a typo. I was wondering ifthere was any paint that I could use to cover my over the side overflow. Or if not paint then somthing else.

I just had my side over flow made out of opaque black acrylic. I would guess you could get some thin acrylic and make a blind to cover it

You can always try painting with some kind of light duty acrylic or even enamel paint, and then sealing the whole thing in a nice, reasonably thick layer of clear epoxy. Sealing the part with silicon would be perfect as well, as long as you make sure the silicon can bond with the painted surface (not sure, myself). Otherwise, paint wont work where animals will eventually live; even non toxic stuff is a no-no (even the regulation-spec stuff in the shop makes me want to lie down and choke to death, so I just hold my breath...).

Other than that, Im still not quite sure what it is youre trying to paint again...?

My over flow and the back of my tank. I think I will try the color acrylic over the top.

Thanks everyone for the help
