how do you connect the pendant to the ballast? is there diy wiring you have to do or does it come with a harness? i hope greg sees my question 8) looks like i have my nano lights!
From IceCap:
I'll copy Greg on this thread. Historically we have offered ballasts that needed wiring by the end user. We displayed at MACNA pre-wired heatsink ballast boxes that have a plug, a qucik disconnect and an on/off switch. It makes for a nice clean look and easy plug & play features. The ballast boxes even match the color scheme of our spot pendants.
So now you'll have a choice. The complete setups should be available in November. The not-so-hard DIY is available now. If you DIY use a heat sink for the ballast to get that 100K hours of use they're made to provide.
Other features of that ballast, constant output even when voltage drops and as the bulb ages. It detects end of bulb life and shuts the ballast off. It will work in any voltage environment (120V or 220-240V).
Aren't the PAR number off the chart? Talk about bang for every watt used.
As Andy stated, it's very simple to hardwire the DIY ballast. MH ballasts are far less complicated than fluorescent. In fact, I thought it was so simple that I didn't even mention it in my review of the product, which BTW is online now.
