3 wks ago I purchased 2 tr ocellaris from a lfs. They've been in a 10 gallon quarantine tank since purchase. 4 days ago I noticed the fins on one clown were getting frayed. It appeared that the other clown was beating up on this clown. I also noted one of the clowns shaking, which I read could be normal in "courtship". Hoping they would get through this phase to see who would be dominant, the submissive clown started to get weaker, wouldn't eat, the color started to fade and then died. The other clown looks great.
My question is, could the clown that died contracted brooklynella after 3 weeks in quarantine? I didn't see any lesions of anykind. I'm wondering how long I should keep the surviving clown in the quarantine and if the quarantine will need to be broken down and sterilized prior to quarantining a second fish?
Thanks in advance!
