clowns and anemone

Hi guys, i felt back into the hobby about three months ago when i started a new namo tank, its 20 gallons and got about 70 watts of lighting..
i added progressively 1 damsel fish and 2 true percula clowns.

Frist , im wondering what kind of anemone to add, since i think my lighting is not sufficient for any kind, im looking to purchase something like a carpet

second, im now feeding my fiches with blood worms, dried shrimps ans flake food... is that ok, or is there a better alternative???

finally, my last question is about waer issue, i looked to buy an ro/di unit, but looks complicated and pricy, is there a better way to keep the good water quality and avoid algae

To be honest, your lighting setup isn't really sufficient for any type of anemone, much less a host anemone. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news on that front!

That sounds like a pretty good mix.

I would definitely invest in the RO unit. I had terrible algae problems until I finally spent the $130 or so on a decent 3-stage unit. Now I have difficulty even growing macroalgaes in my refugium without supplements.

I bought a 6 stage RO/DI unit on ebay for $40. $70 including shipping. It might not be the best one in the world but it was cheap and it works. You should put at least a 175w MH setup on there. You can find that on ebay for pretty cheap also.

Please don't put a Carpet Anemone in a 20gl tank, it is too small. Most species of these will quickly outgrow it.

The other thing you can do to save costs, especially with a nano is to buy RO/DI water from your LFS. Usually it is less than $1/Gal, add in two 5 gal kerosene containers (blue plastic) from HD or Lowes and you can keep top-off and water change water for about a month around.

Have you considered letting your Clownfish use an easier to maintain Coral for a host? I've found Mushrooms Corals to be much safer, easier and still fairly attractive.
