I've had a flame hawk for 4+ years, and I'm considering a green clown goby. Any interaction problems between the two? The reason I ask is that they have a similar shape and swimming pattern. TIA for your replies!

Good point, Chip, but the flame is only about 2" long...he really hasn't really grown since I got him.

He'll kill it, then...they're aggressive with smaller fish, IME.

Peace,

Chip

Okay, thanks, Chip! :D

Happy to be of help, pr000sh. :)

I like the clown gobies myself...I think they're some of the best peaceful fish out there.

Peace,

Chip

How are clown gobies around anemones? I am just wondering. I have tried them in the past but before I had 15 BTAs.
The clown goby likes to perch on corals,so if he happened to rest on a BTA..he would get eaten 8O
They will however, bite holes in sps.

I'm not sure a BTA has a powerful enough sting to immobilize/eat a clown Goby.

I had a clown Goby that sat on my carpet anemone now and again,,, he sat on it too hard one day and BANG ,,,,, he 'set it off' ,,, never stooda chance. I think the Clown gobies have some kind of poisonous mucus or slimecoat because it left a discoloration/scar on the anemome's surface that lasted for weeks.
