I have a 20g tank that is 6 months old fully stocked and have a Red Hair Algae Problem. This occurred a few months back and I added some Red Hair Algae remover stuff from LFS. Why did it happen again? It is coating the black sand bed. Is it bad? What do I do?

It usually means you have too much dissolved organic matter.

Try using a skimmer or checking your existing one if you have one.

That should help it. Otherwise, water changes and using a flocculator as before should help. Check out the product Chemi-Clean.

Also, it sounds like you are suffering from teh affliction known as "cyanobacteria" . Try searching our forums for info on it.

Check on your PO4 and NO3 level. Both are nutrient to algae or cynobacteria. Cut down on feeding, reduce lighting period, and more frequent water change with RODI will help. Physically removing hair algae from the tank also serves as nutrient export.
