set the RK to turn on the heater at 77, turn off at 78
that will give some time between turning on and off

I don't think it does. You set it 100 degrees if you want but it won't let you set lets say the heater to turn on at 80 degree and turn off at 78. I don't have a heater in my setup. Don't need one :sleepy:

he told me to download the new software which will enable the controller to have a "on temp" and "off temp"

It's not "smart" enough to have that, may be too complicated for typical RK2 users to understand and program that too.

I am so surprised the base RK2 don't even have a temp ON and OFF differential, why would you want a heater or chiller to cycle ON and OFF at the same temperature?
