I was wondering if any one could shed some light on their favorite 2 part ca/alk additves.

I used to use the Kent C/B but I am looking into using B-Ionic. Is it worth the extra money?

Are there any others that I should know about?

Thanks...

what size tank are you talking about? I use B Ionic in a 10 gal nano and have great results. Mind you Im using almost 3 times the recommended amount to achieve the results I want. This tank will be torn down shortly as I put up a 40 gal reef and Im not so sure I want to spend the money on two part additives anymore, Im looking into a reactor instead.

I've been using Bionic for years and love it. Since it's worked well at maintaining my tank chemistry, I never really had an inclination to try anything else.

Len, Are you using Bionic for a nano or for a large tank, or both? looking at your site it looks like you have both, wouldnt you be using alot in a 120 with Ca hungry corals? Recommended dosage is 1ml to 4gal, Im using 7.5 to 10ml a day in a 10 gal nano with a few sps. Say if I was to have a sps dominated 40 gal with clams, I would assume the amount used daily wouldnt be very cost efficient.
How much do you dose daily?

I use the seachem reef advantage calcium and reef builder and have been happy with then for the past 3 years. I have a 110 with a fair amount of SPS and LPS.

B-ionic bere. I've used the Kent stuff in the past, and it worked just fine for me as well.

Thanks everyone for your posts. It seems that B-Ionic is the way to go.

I have a 30 gallon tank. It souldn't put me out of house and home.
(Don't tell the wife but I am secretly building bigger anyway  )
No need to soup up this baby right now!!

Thanks Again!! You guys have been a great help lately.

BTW I got rid of that basslet that was giving me such grief, he's in my daughters FOWLR and seems to be geting pushed around by the smaller fish now... serves him right...

I've used B-Ionic for years, and my tank size has gone from 30 to 50 to 75 to 110 to 180. Still works great. Highly recommended.

Peace,

Chip
