One more ASM skimmer question

When I'm setting this thing. What level should the bubbles be set at and left to run. What I mean is...

When you look inside the skimmer cup you see the cylinder in the middle of it. My bubbles are going up about 3/4 of the way up that cylinder. Should I leave it there and wait for some skimmate to be produced? Should I move it up some?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I just want to be sure I'm doing it right.

move it up to about the same place the neck starts to slope and narrow. 3/4 is too low, at least it is for my skimmer.
